Renewable energy by-product set to enrich gardens across Dorset and Somerset

Added on 29 March 2018

Bloomin Amazing, a new 100% peat-free and plant-based soil enricher, is now available for gardeners to buy at all three of The Gardens Group’s award-winning garden centres, following managing director, Mike Burks, helping to get this pet and animal friendly product to launch.

This odourless and nutritious soil conditioner is a by-product of a unique and pioneering renewable energy venture, which is sited in Poundbury, Dorset. A collaboration between the Duchy of Cornwall and local farmers, this initiative will supply gas to 4,500 local homes during winter and 56,000 in summer.

Mike Burks, managing director of The Gardens Group, explains: “Not only are the Duchy of Cornwall and local farmers managing to supply homes in Poundbury and the surrounding area with gas using locally sourced materials, they have also created a fantastic gardening product which conditions the soil and supresses weeds. Bloomin Amazing will be a very welcome addition to the shelves at Brimsmore, Castle and Poundbury Gardens, as we continue to inspire gardeners to use wildlife and environmentally friendly gardening practices to manage their outdoor spaces.”
